The History
Center Stage originated in Rhea County ten years ago and has recently moved to the Chattanooga area, with locations now in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. CSDC offers a variety of dance programs with an emphasis; in dance education, art and fun! Students participate in such events as "The Nutcracker" annually and have the unique opportunity of studying various styles, cultures, and era's of dance. Dancers study material from such Broadway favoites as "Guys and Dolls," "Cats," and "Phantom of the Opera." For our "Dancing the World Round" production, dancers studied folk and ethnic dances from Spain, Ireland, Russia, and Africa. Dancers from CSDC have had the opportunity to perform excerpts from such Disney classics as "The Lion King," "Alice In Wonderland," and "Cinderella." Our 1999 production, "A 20th Century Review,"allowed dancers to study dance from the 1900's, such as Swing, GoGo, and Charleston.
CSDC has one of the few Touring Dance Troupes in the region. Our Touring Company canvasses the region, bringing art, dance and entertainment to audiences throughout Chattanooga and surrounding areas. Center Stage Dance Company is so much more than a Dance Studio; it is an ADVENTURE!
